One of AiRD’s thematic areas is economic empowerment and this one program is supported through the vocational training done by strategic partner Technical Community Training Institution (TCTI).
Being well aware of the lack of job opportunities Kenya has, the best strategy is to connect with overseas job finders who are needing skilled workers from Kenya.
This is where TCTI comes in. TCTI is currently training 20 scaffolders for available jobs in Qatar.
What’s needed however are 100 skilled scaffolders by March 2016 so the number is still very short.
The scaffolding training has started in mid February attended by youths of various backgrounds at the AiRD and TCTI office in Sarakasi Dome, 2nd floor.
During this training, essential things are being thought to prepare the workers for job sites in Qatar. Things such as practical maths, how to rely on measuring tapes, knot tying and most importantly on how to think especially during emergency situations.
Africa Initiative for Rural Development is proud to be partnering with TCTI. We are making the dreams of Young Kenyans come true and we would like you to be a part of it too.
Do you know anyone interested in the opportunity on being a skilled worker in the Middle East? The recruitment criteria is simple: Anyone who wants to learn and change their lives from 19 years of age and above.
