Who we are

Development that begins with communities

Africa Initiative for Rural Development is committed to improving the quality of life and social well-being of communities. We work with young people, women, farmers, schools, civil-society organizations and local institutions to develop practical and sustainable responses to social and economic challenges.

Our approach combines training, mentorship, enterprise development, market linkages, institutional strengthening, health and sanitation, agricultural development and technical assistance. Lasting progress is achieved when communities are equipped to identify opportunities and take an active role in their development.
