SKILLED VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Africa Initiative for Rural Development (AiRD), is a not for profit organization based in Nairobi, Kenya. AiRD embraces market development approaches to community development. Our goal is to improve the quality of rural and urban lives through increased income and strengthening civil society.
Our programs are focused in 4 thematic areas which are:
- Economic empowerment
- Food security, agriculture and climate change
- Health: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)
- Civil Society Strengthening Program (CSSP)
Currently we are looking for skilled volunteers for the following roles:
- Sustainable Livelihood Development Advisor
Your tasks will be:
- Technical vocational training to our youth beneficiaries
- Regular skills mentorship to former trainees
- Linking the trainees with available jobs in the market post training
- Developing a curriculum for the vocational training
- Train our counterparts in green economy and agri-fishery as a way to sustainable livelihoods in rural areas
What we are looking for:
- Minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in development studies or environmental studies; Master’s degree is an added advantage
- Holder of certification in Technical Vocational Education Training (TVET) delivery
- Must demonstrate profound skills in training vocational skills and green technologies
- Ideally have worked overseas
- Communications and Social Media Strategies Advisor
Your tasks will be:
- Developing an applied communications strategy for AiRD for the purpose of promoting the work of the organization and meeting the organization’s objective
- Develop applied social media strategy to promote the works of AiRD and to mobilize beneficiaries and potential partners all over Kenya
- Train all our partners on the use of social media and how to use social media as a monitoring and evaluation tool
- Train our beneficiaries on using social medias as engagement tool
- Content management
What we are looking for:
- Minimum a bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Development Studies or Communications Studies
- Savvy with words , especially on social medias
- Someone who can demonstrate applied knowledge in communications in development sector
- Someone who can look at the trends and growths in social media and apply it to the organization’s need
